Picture Perfect Posts
Labels
Labels are a nice way of organizing and categorizing your posts according to key words that describe your post. For example, "activities" could be used in each of your posts that discuss activities you did. You may label them by the date-- Sunday, Monday, etc. Your name could be used to quickly find posts that you made. If you choose to use them, make a plan with your teammates. You can always edit them in "Edit Posts."
Comments
We will try comments this session. Only make encouraging comments. Practice your leadership skills and be respectful. Also be mindful of our purpose to develop writing skills and a blog you are proud to show your audience!
Here are some ideas when you comment:
Here are some ideas when you comment:
- Respectfully ask a question.
- Tell them that you like something in their post and explain why.
- Please pay attention to your writing. Write in complete sentences and be careful of your choice of words as you type your comments. Remember netiquette.
Important! Important! Important!
Indentify yourself! Everone has the same username, so in order to know who created a post or made a comment, put your FIRST NAME in the TITLE of each post you write! If you make comments, also include your first name.

Collaborate together as a team! Before you begin blogging, plan with your team members. Divide the posts and responsibilities. Discuss which post will be made first, remembering that they appear in order. Make sure you don't use the same pictures. Help each other and share your knowlege! Ask each other questions before asking Cheridy :-)

Blogging Basics: How to post, add a picture, publish and edit
Here are some basic directions for adding a post.
A post is what you are reading right now. It has words and may have either a picture or a short video clip. (Due to time, we will not add video clips.) To add a post, first be sure you are signed in. You do this by clicking on the Sign In on the upper right hand corner. Cheridy will give you the username and password.
Then follow these directions:
1. Click on New Post in the upper right hand corner.
2. Create a title for your post that describes your post. Include your FIRST NAME so we know who created it!
3. Type your post in the box. ( Practice writing skills that are appropriate for your audience. Use complete sentences, think about punctuation and capitalization, respectful language, etc.)
Here is how you add a picture to a post:
1. Click on the box icon that looks like a picture. (If you put your cursor on top of it, it will say insert image.)
2. Upload a picture from your computer.
3. Suggestion: Choose "center" and "large"
4. Drag your picture around in your post to find a happy home for it.
Ready to publish?
When you are ready to publish your post, click on the orange box that says, "Publish Post." Now, everyone can view your post and make comments! If you are not quite ready to publish, but want to save your post to work on it the next day, click on "Save Now" and return to it later.
Editing your post.
Now, imagine your English teacher telling you, "Don't forget editing. It's part of the writing process!" You may edit your post by clicking on New Post in the upper right hand corner and then on Edit Posts in the upper left hand corner. You should then see a list of posts. Find your post and edit it. Publish it after you make changes.
